It’s been a while since I have had some time to post here, but I wanted to keep everyone informed on the state of the company and our future goals. I started Baero back in April 2018 and to date we have reached over 400 S2000 owners! It’s quite amazing how much we’ve grown over the past couple of years, but I want to focus this year on making even better products.
Due to COVID, I was transitioned into a work from home role with Pratt Miller, therefore I relocated back to Florida. This led to many changes, mainly including how much space I had to work with. I used to daily drive our shop Scion FR-S, while the S2000 was relegated to a track only car. Last winter I actually prepped the car for NASA ST5 and had it fully caged and safety optimized for the class. Due to the lack of space, I actually ended up selling the S2000 a couple months ago to some great guys up in NY. I flew up there in October and got to drive my own car around Watkins Glen International, along with a Porsche GT4 clubsport! I owned the S2000 for close to a decade and it was (still is) my favorite car of all time.
Weirdly enough, on the same day I also received a great offer for my FR-S and sold that car as well. It was kind of crazy to go from two cars to NONE in the span of a few hours. That doesn’t mean I want to quit racing, but for the good of Baero it was time to move onto something new. My heart and soul is all lightweight sports cars, so I went to the next logical choice when it comes to small, light, and RWD Japanese cars. That’s right, I bought a ND Miata!
This change will let me expand the company and reach markets that were not possible before. I have made parts for other platforms like Corvettes, EVOs, and many others, but it’s very difficult to make parts without having constant access to the car.
However, this does not mean that S2000 support will stop. I still have access to many S2000s and have built a lot of CAD data over the years to depend on.
I also have a cool new product hitting the stores in the next couple of days that I hope everyone will love! As always, feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.
